Fuerst Day Lawson supplies a wide range of Bakery Seeds, Dried Fruits and Pulses, including Custom Mixes and Blends, to the Baking, Health Food, Dried Packing and Canning Industries. Our ingredients are used in the in-store bakeries of virtually every major UK supermarket and our clients include the UK’s leading grocery product packer and health food chain.

FDL is amongst the very few companies able to provide a complete sourcing and processing service; taking raw agricultural materials and transforming them into high quality food ingredients in our own British Retail Consortium ‘higher level’ accredited processing plant in Walden, UK.


More than 60 percent of the Seeds and Pulses products we supply pass through Walden, undergoing a range of processes including blending, cleaning, toasting and kibbling. For many clients we produce specialist blends, mixed and packed to their specific requirements. Because we understand that our clients operate in competitive marketplaces, where innovation is the key to success, we are always available to support them in new product development, to test new ingredient mixes and to advise on raw material selection.

By taking complete control of the sourcing and processing of all ingredients, we support our clients’ drive for quality. Our own screening, X-ray and colour sorting facilities have enabled us to dramatically reduce product contamination; improving our clients’ quality performance by, in one instance, as much as 200 percent.

In addition to sourcing top quality ingredients we can:

  • Create custom blends; measured, weighed and packed to clients’ own specifications.
