Florida Grapefruits were damaged in 2009 by a virus called citrus canker and high winds, which have affected many orchards across the state. As a result, a large part of the crop is no longer suitable for the European market as there is a shortage in the required larger sizes and a surplus of the smaller sized fruits, reports Freshplaza.com.
