As reported by Freshplaza.com, Apple prices are expected to rise to 80p / kilo this year,  a 60% cent rise on last year's prices. Low prices for the past 2 years has resulted in farmers turning their backs on the fruit due to low profit margins, which has then effected the amount of Apples coming onto the market, hence the price rise for 2010.
