Luo Han Guo (LHG), in English literally translates to Monk’s Fruit (otherwise known as Long Life Fruit) and is the name of a “magical” fruit from the South of China. Monks have traditionally used Luo Han Guo to keep themselves healthy and live longer.
Why has LHG been used for thousands of years to keep healthy?
The secret lies in LHG's composition which is related to its strict growing environment - where many locals live a long life. LHG grows in the hillsides with exposure to 7-8 hours of sunshine per day and is keen on hot, humid and foggy weather conditions to grow - with a temperature differential between day and night.
LHG has been used as a herbal medicine for thousands of years to relieve fevers and coughs and “aid longevity”. The “sweet” components of LHG, known as mogrosides, have been approved in many countries as a natural food sweetener. LHG juice is also accepted by US FDA as a regular juice for use in food and beverage products.
90% of Luo Han Guo worldwide is from Guangxi, China. Luo Han Guo means lower calories, lower blood glucose levels and lower cholesterol and triglyceride – hence associated with good health. It is wholly natural and is available as a liquid concentrate and granular or powdered concentrate.
FDL would be happy to discuss the benefits of this wonder fruit with you in further detail!
